Zachary Pratt, an attorney in Goldberg Segalla’s Albany office and architect of the firm’s Integrated Disability and Workforce Management Program, discusses the impetus for the Program and the problems it aims to solve. Zachary explains how the Program was created in response to the frequent disconnect between employers’ internal handling of workers’ compensation claims and other related employment disputes. He notes that the inability to coordinate in two areas, such as worker’s compensation and human relations, can end up exposing businesses to unexpected and ever-expanding liability.  Zachary shares how the Program fosters cooperation and information sharing to allow for a more holistic approach to employee claims. He concludes with the role insurance can play in incentivizing policyholders’ embrace of coordination.
